This was our 23rd visit. We also visited on...
The Black Bull Hotel situated in the Market Town of High Bentham, perfectly placed between the villages of Ingleton and Clapham on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales
We stock a variety of Thwaites beers and supply a great range of foods with some very special offers.
Eldroth - the name conjurs up something out of Tolkien, where one might find Bilbo Baggins or Frodo in the wilderness. It is at the outer eastern reaches of the Lune catchment, any land beyond there draining into the Ribble. Although there are only 12 houses in Eldroth it merits the title village by virtue of having a church (where an errant 17th century parishioner was discovered to be storing ale!).
Enough - or too much I hear you say - of the background to this fine location chosen by Large Package and First Class Stomp.
No More Cum was welcomed back from his latest travels and quickly assumed the role of stand-in GM with his customary aplomb. With a W/R split from the start, Wimps had left the beer stop only just as the Rambos came trickling into sight. Had they been lost?
Enough of the cockiness as misnavigation by the wimps was spotted by the ever vigilant LP who noticed FOTH's bright orange shirt heading way off course and kindly called us back!
Minor misdemeanours were duly highlighted in the circle along with a rousing cheer for the hares!
The Black Bull, Bentham supplied us with their customary nourishing food - and ales.
