This was our 7th visit. We also visited on...
A mixture of hash regulars plus two hash virgins (brought along by Large Package) and a smattering of visitors gathered on a balmy Summer’s evening at the Eagle’s Head. Hare Sir Tom Tom explained that this was a re-r*n of an earlier r*n which had gone awry and was therefore perhaps longer than usual for a full-mooner. The route was described as a lolly-pop with the outward leg being repeated in reverse after a loop. R*nners had been warned of vicious undergrowth but several had nevertheless risked wearing shorts because of the heat!
The outward leg included the bit through the woods which was apparently overgrown but this proved to be not a problem. The quantity of flour marking the trail was commented on as being borderline excessive, there being no chance of losing the trail. At the first of two fish hooks the front r*nners noted the absence of Baldbrick who it seems was still recovering from the previous weekend and had retired to the Eagle’s Head.
Part way round the loop the pack was joined by Forever Blowing and Bubbles who had started out late, but they had informed Sir Tom Tom in advance so this was no surprise. There was a short Rambo loop close to the finish but only Large Package and Sophie ran it as time was pressing for the meal.
The usual down downs were awarded, including the two virgins (who vowed to return), and a hearty meal was enjoyed.
On on!
