R*n 945: Wray

Wednesday 29th July 2026 at 6:00pm Full Moon

We assembled on a pleasantly warm summer evening, free from the extreme heat of some recent days and were pleased to welcome Fur Coat after a long absence and also to mark the --rd birthday of Wears The Soap.

This was a trail of two parts - 1 part Rambos, 1 part Wimps - who saw nothing of each other from start to finish. Our hare, Sir Tom Tom assured us that the two parts would have finished together if only the Rambos had done as intended (whatever that was).

One clue to Rambo misdemeanours was spotted by us Wimps early on when we saw a clear fishhook marking on a litter bin without any sign of backtracking Rambos. Oh dear, and aren't they usually just such sticklers for following the (non) rules of hashing?

We Wimps enjoyed walking along and then retracing our steps which explained the 2way arrow markings. Ushered by our vigilant hare at strategic points and voluminous flour heaps, we failed to go off trail and enjoyed a fine circuit of fields, river, bridges and meeting an amazing nomadic cyclist. Yes, he is carrying all his worldly goods on his non E bike and just travelling. A real adventurer.

Plaudits to the hare and minor infringements were noted in the circle, along with a rendition of "Happy Birthday" for WTS. Scrumptious nosh was later consumed and enjoyed by many of us at the Bridge.

Thank you Sir Tom Tom!
