I offered to be Scribe before the run started and despite the fact that I did hardly any of it mainly due to not seeing a mark and then listening to someone who did not know where the trail went, I was not allowed to give the job to anyone else so this is a write up about my personal trail!

OHT and I invited our Airbnb guest to come with us. Max, a young Chinese man, was very keen to find out what hashing was all about so instantly agreed.

We set off in good spirits, explaining to Max what the circles and blobs of flour meant and, partly because it was uphill, soon lost sight of the others. Heading downhill, we missed flour and were told by a walker that the others had veered off across fields but assured us that if we kept to the path we would be taking a short cut and would catch them up or even get there first. In my excitement at the idea that I might end up leading a hash, I never gave a thought to the fact that he couldn't know where "there" was!

So, although we tried hard, we never found the others but did have a lovely walk through Levens park and the surrounding area and arrived back before any of the others, helped by the fact that Max used his phone to help us find a route back.

Late Cummer was a bit mad that he had spent time marking an Uber Wimp route which no one had done but everyone else said it had been a well marked good run. He and Chapped Lips were superb hosts as usual for our BBQ lunch. Max said he had really enjoyed the whole thing!
