Well, having mapped out #809 route, then recced' the route with Plucker, liaised with the pub landlady, set the route with Bitter, Plucker and Lord T 🐕, taken food orders, collected subs and ran the hash route...only 1 thing left to do and that is to (blow my own trumpet 🎺) ....volunteer to do the write up too! 🤷♀️

We were lucky enough to set the trail in dry weather earlier in the day, however sat in our kitchen listening to the torrential rain on the window at 5pm, I doubted that whoever was brave (mad) enough to turn up, wouldn't remain dry when r*nning the hash. 🤔 It was a relief to see some friendly eager faces in the pub car park all ready to give it a go plus virgin "John", a mate of Large Package. I needn't have worried about more precipitation as we all got round dry - apart from our feet which had very large lakes and rivers to contend with enroute!

Unfortunately, the heavy rain had taken its toll on the flour and chalk and very little of the trail remained visible having been washed away with the monsoon. Luckily we had Plucker to escort the Rambos whilst I joined the Wimps until they were back on familiar territory and I was able to r*n the last couple of miles with the Rambos.🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️
The pub was warm and welcoming...and a glass of vino on a school night is always a treat 🍷- especially for Pleasant who had had a bad day in the office! Eight of us waited a fair time for our meals but the food went down well...with Sir Tom Tom, White Noise, Forever Blowing and Bitter all partaking in the excellent Royal Oak signature steak pie. 🥧 A brief circle took place in the snug with lots of banter (including a bit of politics) and think we all went home in a happy mood...especially Forever Blowing and White Noise who were being driven home by STT. 🚗
We hope to see Virgin John join us again...but think he is already worrying about his hash name! 🤔
