R*n 489: Arnside

With warnings from the Hares about disgruntled villagers who thought they were committing heinous crimes by putting flour all over the place we set off along the beach. Fortunately the hares had checked the tide tables. Leaving the beach we followed the trail along a cliff edge - again fortunately for our safetly, the recent gales had abated - until we found the beer stop in a field. Suitably refreshed, and no-one having chosen to take a bath, which was conveniently placed, we set off again onwards and upwards. I found it hard work but knowing that we had started at sea level, I knew that we would have to run downhill at some point. More disgruntled villagers were met en route - complaining about the Hash Horn (mind you it was not up to orchestral standards) and obviously someone had hidden flour under leaves. Still we all got back and, after the circle, headed off to the On Inn in Sandside where we hoped the natives would be friendlier.

We did have a visitor -PPS who has Hashed all over the world but decided to come back to Lancashire! I am not surprised, it is God's county after all! Not sure what PPS stands for (there seemed to be 2 versions) but I should probably not be putting it into a write up anyway.

There were down downs: to Doormouse for not taking his responsibilities seriously enough and to Highway for trying to get his privates on CCTV. There may have been others but I can't remember. I have slept since then.
