R*n 820: Lancaster

Tuesday 7th March 2023 at 6:30pm Full Moon

'Twas a cold winter's night (actually spring, but it felt like winter!) when the hardy group assembled in the pub car park for the opening briefing. Yet again yours truly failed to appoint a scribe, hence me scribing again.

Swelling the ranks were  second timers, Slava (spelling?) and James (i think), together with virgin Dimitry. The hares proceeded to detail the markings and general information on the run and off they went. Much meandering round darkened streets and boggy parks, the lights of the rambos disappearing into the distance at the usual brisk pace, the wimps following in a more casual manor. For once we were actually accompanied by the full moon, shining brightly as it appeared over the tree tops. So it was back to the on-inn to find the some of the rambos had not had enough and so had set off again (what can you say!).

Circle assembled, hares given the usual back handed complements, " too much shiggy, too long, too dark, not enough marking" and so on and so on. No major sins committed as it was dark and nobody could see anything. There was one thing that was recognised and that was the 500 run landmark for Lurch, marked with a new piece of wardrobe suitably inscribed with his achievement, celebrated with a chilling down-down to the dulcet singing of "get a life".

So it was into the Fox & Goose to warm up, drinks and supper.

Thanks for the run hares, see you all at the next one.
