R*n 245: Catterall

Sunday 25th November 2007 at 11:00am Daytime

Well, where does one begin? ... At the very beginning one would suggest, it's a very good place to start.....well I would if I could remember it but I can't.

Having hashed the full moon r*n the evening before and followed by a party I can recall feeling somewhat tired when I woke on that dark Autumnal Sunday morning. However being the dedicated hasher that I am, I sacrified a lazy Sunday at home to support the hares, Twitter & Bisted. What a martyr or is that a tomata?

As the clock struck 11am, MT and I drove into the car park to be greeted by a band of select hashers awaiting our arrival. The newly appointed GM, wearing his official head gear, welcomed everyone in his newly aquired Irish accent. Well I think he was welcoming us - I couldn't understand a word he said! He pointed to me and mumbled something - apparantly, I was assured by my fellow hashers, he was appointing me as Scribe.

So I suppose I better tell you about the r*n.... well here goes.... it's a DIY version. I'll supply you with some significant words and phrases so that you can make it up as you go along......well that's what normally happens in hashing! The order in which they appear is completely random!

  • MTs braces
  • Cloudless blue sky - NOT
  • Shiggy, shiggy and yet more shiggy
  • No rain
  • Biscuits, not just any old biscuits but M&S chocolate chip biscuits
  • Dick Head
  • Unceasing murmer of traffic - The famous M6 no less
  • Cheap beer - not just any beer but Sainsbury's cheap 2% beer - yum yum ahh
  • Mud
  • Wet feet
  • Canal tow path
  • Boggy fields
  • Assualt course
  • Style - the GMs first lady, very co-ordinated
  • Stiles - plenty of them
  • Brambles & nettles - plenty of them, I have the scars to prove it.
  • River crossing
  • Fish hook
  • Open checks
  • Hash dog Harry
  • Jaffa cakes
  • Barbed wire
  • Wimps and Rambos
  • Squirkle
  • Good company - well I have to say that don't I?

I think down downs were awarded to:

  • Hares - Excellent run
  • MT & Twisted - Undies investigation (I'd better not elaborate here!)
  • Twisted - A FRB and a Hare
  • White Noise - The co-ordinated one
  • FeelsOnWheels - The big mouth
  • OfficeTrolley - No hash haberdashery
  • (in the circle)

Thanks Twtter & Bisted - It was indeed an excellent r*n
