Large Package and First Class Stomp came up trumps again this time by not only stepping in as hares at short notice for this Harvest Moon hash but also springing a surprise, more of which later. Straining at the leash was Sharp Intake's lively hound Luna, ?SI's secret asset to pull him around the trail.
Starting with a split from the outset at Torrisholme Square, we wimps saw a mere glimpse of the rambos at one point so I cannot possibly comment on the ups and (down)downs of their trail. Colour coded chalk for W & R was pretty slick, but disappointingly there was just plain white flour throughout!
We flirted with the Bay Gateway and Lancaster Canal and experienced the delightful Barley Cop Woods, unknown even to one of our number in 60 years living nearby!
So, we then just had to make it back to our starting point and the OnInn (Dog & Partridge, Bare),or so we thought ....BUT what was this?....arrows directing us into LP & FCS's garden, effectively the OnInn and a magical place indeed. Guided by subtle lighting past the engine shed, railway track and climbing wall, we had nibbles and drinks at the charming garden house. A few misdemeanors were duly recorded in the circle. For some of us the evening concluded with a convivial gathering for food and drink at the Dog & Partridge (recommended).
Thank you hares for a memorable event!
