An 'L' of a run!

R*n 881 in beautifully autumnal but chilly Clapham was solo hared by Baldbrick. An immediate W/R split saw the Rambos peeling off uphill to the old haunts of Reginald Farrer, a planthound who planted seeds by way of stuffing them into cartridges and firing them at the limestone cliffs. He is celebrated for popularising the garden rockery. Don't you just love being educated on a hash! Having parted each with £2.50 for the privilege of walking up the nature reserve trail, we made sure to do the short detour required to enjoy the vista from 'Lake View'. It was rather lovely.

BB clearly was not in funds currently and unable to afford the flour required to mark the trail. Instead he had lovingly hand-scribed instructions for each and everyone of the Rambos on beautiful hare adorned note paper( Down down for cutesiness followed!)

Up the Clapham beck the Rambos panted as the Wimps tunnelled up to above the village. Then back down the hill the Rambos plummeted to join the Wimps route. Enjoying fine open views over Norber Scar , we all pretended to be r*nning fast for the photos. The group was kept together and encouraged with exuberant sound effects from LP on his duck decoy whistle (may be a grandiose description of his green plastic noise maker!) No ducks were at all tempted to join us.

The Rambos didn't quite catch the Wimps before the beer stop which was fortunate as it meant we could just ignore the fishhook shortly after it .On on to the picturesque village of Austwick, past The Woodcock which couldn't accommodate our group for lunch (boo) and back over the fields to Clapham. For once we actually had time for a circle where L and HA were pulled up for being inappropriate ( fancy that on a hash!!) and LP for failing to attract any ducks to our Duck Patrol( -it also being the National Day for Failure)

Some of our members went on to celebrate National Yorkshire pudding day at the Black Bull. Not a single Harriet celebrated 'No Bra Day'! A good time was had by all - a lovely run. Thanks BB!
