Crooklands

On a very hot sunny morning, a good number of cheerful hashers gathered at Crooklands Hotel to enjoy a lovely r*n in the surrounding countryside. After a short briefing from the happy hares, we set off up the lanes and immediately into lovely fields full of wild flowers and completely devoid of any of that horrible shiggy that sticks to our expensive clean trainers and slows us down. Four fast running Rambos parted company from the Wimps on the first of the two splits and quickly covered the lengthy miles along idyllic canals, sun dappled woods and flower filled meadows. Three of the Rambos were not slowed by the fourth Rambo who despite 50 hilly bike miles the previous day, kept up well and delighted them with her great wit and GSOH. The Rambos kindly swept up the two Wimps who had wandered off trail and escorted them back onto the correct trail with no harsh words or criticism with regards to their poor eyesight failing to see a large arrow highlighting the Wimps trail.

The well appointed beer stop provided such lovely delights in the form of copious beer, soft drinks and high-end confectionery. Lots of laughter and joy was the order of the day as we delighted in seeing the remaining Rambos walking and taking their time in the warm sunshine as they reached the beer stop, following the emergency telephone call made to check their whereabouts and assist in their onward passage to the beer stop. Great mirth was experienced after one of our beautiful hashers was heard asking to see Large Packets large packet and he duly obliged (only kidding)!

The Rambos parted company immediately after the beer stop and were soon back at the On Inn where in no time at, they were joined by the Wimps. The circle was a joyous affair where down downs were awarded to those that had clearly shone during the hash for all the right reasons. It was a pleasure to name ‘First Class Stomp’ following in the footsteps of her hubby ‘Large Package’ and daughter ‘Special Delivery’ (such novel and innotive  names we came up with).  The majority of the happy people retired to the bar for top class food and drink whilst the other miserable sods went home (your scribe included). Such joy should be repeated regularly so see you all at the next happy hash.

ON ON, love Twisted. XX
