It was a hash too far for Bitter today having done the Hawkshead challenge the day before with Twisted. He had nothing in his legs (and some of us would say nothing in his wallet) as he tried to avoid payment at the car park! Twisted oohd and arrhd her way round but enjoyed the challenge of keeping her hips from locking up. It was a great hash but better if it had been a tad shorter with a lot of sun to ease the aching joints!
The Hares were so confident of their route laying that one of them escorted the hashers for the whole run....there's confidence for you!
Wind & sheep blamed for 'missing' flour - RIGHT!
Dormouse and Speedbump promised us a short urban run from their city pad in Ulverston with a few hills and uncertain distance.
They sadly mis-led us. There weren’t a few hills, there was only one – but we went up it at least 4 times. Twice on false trails, then back into town where Bitter sent his police mates to chase straggling lost hashers through the park, then a third time up a bit then along a bit and then up a bit and then along a bit and then up and up and up and up until we finally reached that large Phallic erection that is Ulverston’s pride and joy!
After a long rest we wandered all the way down and then, surprise, surprise went up the back of the same hill to the long awaited beer stop in clear view of the same tower. Thankfully the beer was good as I had to miss the On-On and zoom off home for family business.
