Long, hot run - almost 7miles. Start delayed by Pondlife, but off by 11.15am and through the pretty, wooded countryside around Brock. Several open checks at the beginning to throw us off the scent, but Twisted, the Hare, was with us to keep us on course.
A false trail lead across the beck and Masterbaker was so determined to cool down, he did a buttock-dive into the 3inches of water, before charging downstream and shaking himself dry on the bank. Bilbo-Twit saw The Ring sparkling under the crystal water and grabbed it - "Preciousssss. Yessss!" Would it make her invisible, so she could take the short-cut back to the pub?! "On-on" to catch up to the other Hash Hobbits and return the ring to the Dark Lord - Masterbaker.
Three beer stops were the solution on such a hot day + fig biccies and strawberries - real Hash fayre!. We met a 'serious' runner, watering his garden, who was perplexed by the sudden appearance of white powder circles and arrows around his property. Has Glastonbury come to Brock? "On-on" and we disappeared through a wheatfield and back to rejoin the outward trail. No-one objected to quenching their thirst with the Down-Downs this day. Then it was lunch at 'The Roebuck'.
