11am Start Bower House Inn (BHI)
Following the previous days runs in sublime Lakeland Weather, today returned to NNG (Normal Northern Grimness), hose pipe bans were forgotten as the circle gathered wimpishly in pouring rain with some meggawimps, Dormouse and Speedbump having to be forcibly dragged from their cars.
As Bubbles had hinted at a short, flat easy run (hand in pocket at time) we set off.  The first disaster....Baldbrick was bugleless!  Without being able to blow his own trumpet he seemed only half of what he normally is (Bald?) as he shuffled on on tearfully.
The first Bubbles clue at Plumgarth Farm was the 5 bar gate, as this had 6 bars we started to doubt the flat easy run!  Battling through a jungle of wild ferns (must remember machete next time), we followed the rapidly disappearing ‘pancake trail’.  Rambos turned into Wimps and we all arrived together at the Beer Stop except for Lurch and Morticia. Orders were bellowed out for three intrepid hashers (IH) - Dormouse, 15k and Gritty Sheets ran back to rescue them.
Having saved L & M and arriving back at BS the 3 IH were rewarded with another military precise clue from Bubbles and took the wrong trail!
The GFW at top of Irton Pike would have blown Baldbrick’s bugle but alas, he was still in the depths of despair looking for something to blow but with no volunteers he blew himself off Irton Pike and recovered his usual cheekiness!
With all of the FGM’s now leading the pack, a high-speed pace was set and the 3 IH’s struggled to catch up.  With the sun’s heat... it was a welcome run down thro’ the dark depths of Miterdale Forest back to BHI.  As beer and food was now close by nobody seemed to care for a circle.
