Chalk and Flour Markings
If you've seen small piles of flour and chalk markings in your area on public footpaths and roads, it may have been a Hash group like us. We opt for harmless chalk and flour to mark our trail sparingly as they are biodegradable and soon wash away. |

LVH3 at CH3's 200th r*n
A stupendous crowd of LVH3 hashers (11 in fact) assembled at the Lanthwaite Green car park by Crummack Water on 2nd January 2012 for the Cockermouth H3 200th r*n. CH3 and a few visitors/virgins made up the total number to around 30. Weather amazingly dry, verging on bright and breezy, all the more surprising as the official figures for December confirmed there were only 2 dry days out of 31.
Greetings exchanged with Half Dome, Miss Demeanour, Lady Godiva, Huggy, etc (apologies to all the other CH3 hashers whose names I can't remember), we formed a big circle and were briefed by the hares before runners and walkers set off in opposite directions, runners effectively doing a pre-loop over the open fell, which Sir Tom Tom deemed "chaotic".
Into the woods and down to the lake side to a cake stop at a sheltered bay, where Huggy took a dip in the lake and, not to be outdone, I followed. It was f*** freezing in the water, which on returning to shore made the weather feel much warmer! Short climb back up to the road and the on in for a slice of 200 birthday cake, speeches and the presentation of a commemorative script, which we all signed, to CH3's retiring GM Muscles.
On on to the Wheatsheaf at Lorton for tatty pot and good beer, rounding up a grand day out and fitting celebration for Cockermouth H3, may they long continue. Sad goodbyes and agreement to share each other's r*ns more often.
Cyberseptic, whose accomplices were Antiseptic, Off His Trolley, White Noise, Sir Tom Tom, Morticia, Pudsley, Stinkerbell, Highway, Full Member and Naania.

HARES REQUIRED!
Hares needed for the following r*n: R*n 416 - Sunday 25th March Please contact On Sec! |
|
IMPORTANT - CHANGES TO R*N 411.
Please note that, in the interests of safety, the Full Moon r*n on Tuesday February 7th has been switched to Grasmere Drive Car Park, High Bentham; on inn will be The Black Bull, High Bentham. The combination of months of rain and the present freezing conditions have rendered the route originally planned unsuitable and, in places, hazardous and even impassable. On a positive note, we get another chance to visit the best and cheapest on inn! |

Welcome to Lune Valley Hash House Harriers (LVH3)
Hashing is:
- A non competitive run set in and around the Lune Valley.
- A great way to meet people from diverse backgrounds in a very informal setting. The run gets those endorphins flowing and the beer fine tunes the mood.
There is a charge of £2 for Sunday r*ns, £1 for Full Moon r*ns, which covers the cost of drinks during and at the end of the run. If it's your first run with us, there's no charge!
Hashing is not:
- Only for the elite runners. Walkers are very welcome.
- A drunken brawl. We like to run and drink - sometimes at the same time. We don't want people to come who just want to get trashed. Drinking is part of our heritage and part of the fun. Some of our most beloved members don't drink at all.
- anything connected with the intake of drugs
- Politically correct. Part of the fun is letting your hair down. Risque talking is encouraged and hashers are given silly nicknames to foster the atmosphere. If you don't have a sense of humour and a sense of the ironic, then hashing is probably not for you.
You see some great countryside, get fit, have fun and meet great people - so what's stopping you? Come and join us! Simply turn up about 10 minutes before the allotted time in the right place, with money for the run and a bit of money for food and drink if you want to stay on at the On Inn! LVH3 usually meet at 11am on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month and at 7pm on the evening of a Full Moon. |
